James E. Tripp, 60, of Batavia, pleaded guilty to one count of possessing a sexual performance by a child less than 16, a class E felony, on Tuesday morning in Genesee County Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tripp admitted to knowingly possessing a sexual performance by a child less than 16 on December 20, 2017, count one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was originally charged with three counts of possession of sexual performance by a child after being arrested on January 21, 2020. Tripp turned himself in to State Police and was released on his own recognizance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Judge Charles Zambito advised Tripp that he could be sentenced to shock probation for up to 5 years or face up to 90 days in jail. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tripp will continue to be released on recognizance and will be sentenced on September 22, 2020 at 10:00a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
