The Orleans County Sheriff\u2019s Office is investigating the tragic death of a 16 month old child in the Town of Barre. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Orleans County 911 Center received a call at 11:48am for the report of a child who had fallen in a pool and was drowning. The Sheriff\u2019s Office, COVA Ambulance, Barre EMS, and Orleans County Emergency Management Office responded to the scene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Immediately CPR was administered and the child was transported to a Batavia Hospital and CPR was continued for approximately an hour. The child was unable to be resuscitated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Sheriff\u2019s Office Investigators unit, Colonna and Brett are handling this investigation. The Sheriff\u2019s Office was assisted by the New York State Police and Genesee County Coroners Office. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
