On Thursday, August 6, 2020, the Honorable Michael M. Mohun of Wyoming County Court sentenced Lauren M. Hall, of Strykersville, to a combination of jail and probation for her conviction of leaving the scene of an incident without reporting as a class E felony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The conviction arose from an incident that occurred on August 15, 2019 on Dutch Hollow Road in the Town of Sheldon. At approximately 8:15 p.m., Hall drove onto the shoulder of the road and struck two young girls, ages 12 and 14 years, who were walking with their dog. One of the girls sustained serious physical injuries as a result, and the other suffered lesser injuries. The dog was killed instantly. Hall left the scene of the incident without reporting it and made no effort to render assistance to the girls. She surrendered herself to the police the following day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hall pleaded guilty to the offense on February 9, 2020. There was no agreement as to the sentence to be imposed, which was left in the discretion of the Court. She faced up to 4 years\u2019 imprisonment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
