Day, 74, of Nunda, appeared in Wyoming County Court before the Hon. Michael M. Mohun with his defense attorney Brian Degnan and Assistant District Attorney Chelsie Hamilton representing the People. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the court appearance, Day pleaded guilty to course of sexual conduct against a child in the first degree, a class B violent felony, with an agreed upon determinate sentence of 12 years in prison followed by post-release supervision of 20 years.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Day will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison. Day waived his right to appeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sentencing is set for November 5, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Day is being held on $150,000 cash bail, $500,000 bond or $750,000 partially secured bond in the Wyoming County Jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These charges stem from sexual acts committed against a child victim, when that victim was between the ages of 4 and 12 years old. The acts occurred between 2008 and 2017. He was arrested on August 7, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI want to commend Inv. Jacob Opala of the New York State Police for his swift investigation which resulted in being able to bring this case to a just resolution.
