Jonathan G. Irish, 42, of Warsaw, was committed to the Wyoming County Jail following an attempted assault at a North Warsaw business on October 18, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wyoming County Sheriff\u2019s deputies responded to an address on Route 19 in the Town of Warsaw for the report of a male who had just attempted to assault a subject with a knife at the business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While units were responding, it was reported the suspect was still armed and had just fled the scene in a vehicle. Wyoming County Sheriff\u2019s Deputies located the male entering a vehicle at Crosby\u2019s Gas Station on Route 19 near Saltvale Road, not far from the scene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deputies conducted a traffic stop with the suspect vehicle after Irish attempted to drive away. During the course of attempting to take Irish into custody, Irish allegedly presented a knife towards deputies. Deputies were able to talk Irish into dropping the knife, and Irish was then taken into custody without further incident. Irish is charged as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Menacing a police officer, class D violent felony, attempted assault 2nd, a class E felony, criminal possession of a weapon 4th degree(three counts), menacing 2nd, and criminal mischief 4th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Irish was arraigned in the Town of Warsaw Court where he was committed to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $25,000.00 cash bail, $50,000.00 bond, or $50,000.00 partially secured bond. Irish is scheduled for further court proceedings in Wyoming County Court on November 5, 2020.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
