A Genesee County grand jury filed a 13 count indictment against Denzell A. Johnson, 27, of Rochester, after he allegedly fled from a police enforcement detail that was being conducted in the area of Ellicott and Otis street in the City of Batavia on January 30, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an attempt to evade police, Johnson allegedly drove through a yard and in the the backyard area of 255 South Swan street, where he and his passenger then fled the moving vehicle and led police on a foot pursuit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson and the passenger separated during the foot pursuit, with Johnson running across Jackson School property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson was arrested and allegedly found with a loaded 9mm handgun, and a quantity of controlled substances, cocaine and methamphetamine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The passenger in the vehicle, Shafatiah H. Miller, 26, of Rochester, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd, a class B felony, promoting prison contraband 1st, a class D felony, promoting prison contraband 2nd and unlawful possession of marijuana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The indictment accuses Johnson of criminal possession of a weapon 2nd, a class C armed violent felony, criminal possession of a weapon 3rd, a class D felony, criminal possession of a weapon on school grounds, a class E felony, criminal possession of a firearm, a class E felony, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th, criminally using drug paraphernalia 2nd, obstruction of governmental administration 2nd, unlawful fleeing a police officer 3rd, reckless driving, aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd, unlicensed operation and knowingly using an imitation or counterfeit official certificate of inspection.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
