{"id":205,"date":"2016-12-24T01:56:21","date_gmt":"2016-12-24T01:56:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/videonewsservice.net\/?p=205"},"modified":"2016-12-24T01:56:21","modified_gmt":"2016-12-24T01:56:21","slug":"red-osier-and-adams-welding-and-fabrication-present-a-big-check-to-genesee-cancer-assistance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/videonewsservice.net\/index.php\/2016\/12\/24\/red-osier-and-adams-welding-and-fabrication-present-a-big-check-to-genesee-cancer-assistance\/","title":{"rendered":"Red Osier and Adams Welding and Fabrication present a big check to Genesee Cancer Assistance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/d8br6r2KSeo\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The owners and employees at the Red Osier Restaurant came together for the month of November and raised funds and collected food and clothing for three different organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Co-owners Steven Foster and Tim Adams decided to rename the month of November &#8220;Lovember&#8221; .<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We did charitable things for the month, one of which was to open on Thanksgiving which we have not done in 37 years,&#8221; says Foster.<\/p>\n<p>100% of the proceeds were donated to Genesee Cancer Assistance and the Stafford Monument Committee, which decided to give their share to Genesee Cancer Assistance.<\/p>\n<p>The Red Osier employees and it&#8217;s owners raised $7,965.<\/p>\n<p>In a surprise announcement, Adams Welding and Fabrication decided to donate $2,035 to Genesee Cancer Assistance to make the donation total $10,000.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We were able to raise so much money because three quarters of out staff worked for free on Thanksgiving and some of them donated their tips.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Steve and Tim then matched their tip donations.<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant also held a food drive and collected two truck loads of food for the LeRoy Food Pantry that helped about 118 families in LeRoy.<\/p>\n<p>Wendy Cappoli-Frongetta, a server at the Red Osier, also held a Sock and Skivvies drive where patrons brought in underwear and socks, clothing, bras and other items.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We got over 600 pairs of socks and underwear and other clothing, it was great, it went way over what we did in our first year,&#8221; says Cappoli-Frongetta.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The amount of kindness from the community was amazing, the things people brought in were high quality.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Foster says this is something the Red Osier and it&#8217;s employees along with Adams Welding and Fabrication hope to continue into next year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The owners and employees at the Red Osier Restaurant came together for the month of November and raised funds and collected food and clothing for three different organizations.
