Following a five month long investigation into alleged drug sales in the Village of Attica, an Attica woman was taken into custody following the execution of a search warrant at her residence on Lincoln Avenue in the Village of Attica on September 7, 2017.<\/p>\n

Kara Baker<\/strong>, 44, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd<\/sup> degree and endangering the welfare of a child.<\/p>\n

Members of the Wyoming County Drug Task Force, Village of Attica Police, Wyoming County Sheriff\u2019s Department and a New York State Police K-9 unit, converged on Baker’s<\/strong> residence at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Thursday.<\/p>\n

During the search, officer\u2019s discovered a large quantity of suspected cocaine, controlled substances and drug paraphernalia<\/strong>. A child under the age of sixteen was located within the residence during the search, prompting the endangerment charge.<\/p>\n

A slew of additional felony charges are imminent as Baker<\/strong> is accused of selling cocaine and other controlled substances out of her residence over the past five months.<\/p>\n

Baker <\/strong>was committed to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail.<\/p>\n

An Arcade woman is facing welfare fraud charges after she allegedly filed false documents with the Wyoming County Department of Social Services.<\/p>\n

Summer Spencer, 37, is charged with welfare fraud 4th<\/sup>, a felony, and offering a false instrument to file 1st<\/sup> , a felony, after an investigation by the Wyoming County Sheriff\u2019s Office and the Department of Social Services.<\/p>\n

It is alleged that Spencer failed to report everyone who was living in the household. \u00a0By failing to report everyone in the household she collected $22,119 in county taxpayer benefits to which she was not entitled to.<\/p>\n
