Dejon J. Smith<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

On February 25, 2021 at 6:01p.m., a Batavia Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on Otis Street after observing a traffic violation. After officers had the occupants out of the vehicle, the passenger, later identified as Dejon J. Smith, 21 of Rochester, fled from officers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a brief foot pursuit, and with the assistance of K-9 Officer Quider and K-9 Batu, Smith was located in a storage shed behind a residence on Ellicott Street. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suspected crack cocaine and marijuana was recovered at the scene of the traffic stop, and additional crack cocaine was located inside of the storage shed on Ellicott Street. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both men were subsequently arrested. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smith is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree \u2013 with intent to sell, criminal Possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, burglary in the third degree, unlawful possession of marijuana in the second degree, tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest, and obstruction of governmental administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smith was arraigned in Batavia City Court, released, and is to appear on April 8, 2021 at 2:00p.m. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Smith was released on these charges, he was turned over to Irondequoit Police Department on an unrelated warrant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The driver of the vehicle, Germayne D. Session, 27, of Rochester, is charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended\/revoked registration, unlicensed operation, and unlawful possession of marijuana in the second degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Session was released on appearance tickets to appear on April 20, 2021 at 1:00p.m..<\/p>\n\n\n\n
