{"id":2422,"date":"2017-10-14T00:18:30","date_gmt":"2017-10-14T04:18:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/videonewsservice.net\/?p=2422"},"modified":"2017-10-14T00:21:25","modified_gmt":"2017-10-14T04:21:25","slug":"high-school-footballbatavia-too-much-for-st-marys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/videonewsservice.net\/index.php\/2017\/10\/14\/high-school-footballbatavia-too-much-for-st-marys\/","title":{"rendered":"HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL\/Batavia too much for St. Mary&#8217;s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OYAUGkmMoWs\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Batavia Blue Devils are officially tuned up for sectional play after a 69-20 trouncing of St. Mary&#8217;s on Friday night at Van Detta Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>The game was close in the first few minutes of the 1st quarter with St Mary&#8217;s actually taking a 8-7 lead on an 85 yard kick return by D&#8217;Jae Perry.<\/p>\n<p>That did not last long.<\/p>\n<p>Chandler Baker tossed a 24 yard pass to Andrew Francis to make the score 14-8 with a few minutes left in the 1st quarter.<\/p>\n<p>After that the Blue Devils played relentless football.<\/p>\n<p>After sacking the St. Mary&#8217;s quarterback, Chandler Baker returned a punt 45 yards to make the score 20-8 with 2:42 left in the 1st quarter.<\/p>\n<p>Then Ray Leach intercepted a pass with :52 seconds remaining in the 1st quarter and ran it 22 yards to the end zone. The Blue Devils were up by a score of 27-8.<\/p>\n<p>In the second. Leach continued to score after another interception, this one by Alex Rood. Leach capitalized on the turnover, making the score 41-8.<\/p>\n<p>Then with 3:38 left in the 2nd, Leach ran another one in for 17 yards to make it 48-8.<\/p>\n<p>Leach scored a 6th TD with 1:48 left in the second and D&#8217;Jae Perry of St. Mary&#8217;s ran the ball in 75 yards in response, making the score at the half 56-14.<\/p>\n<p>Batavia will host a sectional game next week, they will play either Wayne or HFL.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Batavia Blue Devils are officially tuned up for sectional play after a 69-20 trouncing of St. Mary&#8217;s on Friday night at Van Detta Stadium.
