Ed Gutowski is spearheading a project to renovate the old message sign in front of the Pembroke High School on Rt. 77. It was originally constructed as a memorial to several students who were killed in two separate vehicle crashes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has gone into disrepair over the years, and is in need of some attention and updating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a Memorial plaque on the sign’s front for three students killed along with their driver’s education teacher in 1987 and two other students killed in a separate crash in the mid 70s<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gutowski, who is a member of the class of ’79, has started a GoFundMe page to raise the money needed to have LED panels installed in the original sign. The GoFundMe page is looking to raise $25,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Students have raised some money, but still have a long way to go,” says Gutowski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
