Michael J. Perkins<\/em>, 49, was arrested on July 25, 2021 at 12:05AM, following a domestic disturbance on Ellicott Street. During the incident, Perkins\u00a0allegedly assaulted another person resulting in serious physical injury, took their phone while they were attempting to call 9-1-1 and applied pressure to their neck, causing\u00a0difficulty breathing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perkins then fled the residence prior to patrols arrival. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

K9 Officer Quider and K9 Batu responded to the scene and were able to quickly deploy on a track. K9 Batu\u00a0successfully located\u00a0Perkins as he was attempting to flee through backyards\u00a0and a city park in the area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perkins was taken into custody without further incident. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsequently, it was also determined that Perkins was on Federal Probation\u00a0and had a warrant as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perkins was arraigned in Batavia City Court on July 25, 2021 and held on bail. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is to appear in Batavia City Court on July 27, 2021 at 9:30AM. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
