The Orleans County Sheriff Office is investigating an apparent accidental shooting in the Town of Carlton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On November 21, 2021, at 3:14 pm, the Sheriff\u2019s 911 Communication Center received a report of a male suffering from a gunshot wound on Winding road in Waterport. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Carlton Fire\/EMS, Central Orleans Volunteer Ambulance and Orleans County Sheriff\u2019s Deputies responded to the scene and discovered a male with an apparent gunshot wound to the neck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The victim, a 60 year old Hamlin N.Y. resident, was conscious and reported to deputies that he was walking on the pathway to his cottage on Winding road, when his AMT 380 cal. semi-auto handgun accidently dropped on the ground and discharged. The bullet entered the right front side of the victim\u2019s neck and exited the right rear side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
