The Genesee County Health Department says it has conducted an onsite inspection at the Palm Island Indoor Waterpark in response to concerns of bacterial infections recently. The indoor water park, located at 8250 Park road, inside the Quality Inn & Suites, is currently closed and is planning to re-open next week after a skylight was damaged during last Sunday’s windstorm, according to an employee who answered the phone there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Department staff have conducted an onsite inspection in response to the complaint and the facility has voluntarily closed and will not re-open until cleared by the Health Department,” according to Kaitlin Pettine, Public Information Officer\/Genesee County Health Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several people responded to a local Facebook page this past week saying they became ill and are or have been treated with antibiotic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
