UPDATE:

The Sheriff’s Office has identified the operator of the 2013 Victory motorcycle as Thomas H. Hankey, 60, of Hilton, NY. Hankey left his lane of travel on North Byron road as he was headed east, and crossed over the center line and continued off the north shoulder of the road. The motorcycle then struck a farm fence causing the motorcycle to flip end over end and come to rest on the north shoulder of the roadway.

At this time the cause of the crash is under investigation by members of the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office Crash Management Division. Assisting at the scene were members of the Byron and S. Byron Fire Departments along with Elba Fire, Mercy EMS, and the NYS Police.
