On January 17, 2018, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) out of State Police Batavia, arrested Brianna J. Smith, 25, of Batavia, NY, for offering a false instrument for filing and falsely reporting an incident.<\/p>\n

On December 20, 2017, Smith reported a domestic incident to the State Police in the town of Batavia.
\nSmith stated during the incident she was menaced with a weapon.\u00a0 After further investigation, BCI determined a weapon was never displayed or used in the incident.\u00a0 Smith was arrested and processed at State Police Batavia.<\/p>\n

Smith, a New York State Trooper who was off-duty at the time of the incident, was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in the Town of Batavia Court in January\u00a0 of 2018.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
