Next, the project will be brought to residents by a public hearing in the town of Batavia at a&nbsp;later date.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once a public hearing is held in the town of Batavia, the board will review the project again before considering a resolution that approves the proposed assistance as a final resolution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The current 192 room hotel is using 140 rooms and the plan is to renovate the building to offer 80 hotel rooms and 80 studio\/2-bedroom suites equipped with full kitchens under the brand of Holiday Inn\/Candlewood Suites-an extended stay hotel.  There will be a bistro in place of the restaurant that has closed, the water park will also be renovated. Three banquet rooms will be created that can handle 100-300 guests.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If all goes as planned, construction will begin in December of 2022 and renovations should be completed by the summer of 2023. Work crews will work on sections of the hotel from December through March, and it will remain open. From April through June the hotel will close and reopen as Holiday Inn\/Candlewood Suites sometime in June. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This will be Rudra Management&#8217;s 26th hotel. Four years ago, they revamped a building that was closed for 20 years and made it into a hotel on Grand Island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">____________________________________________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PRESS RELEASE<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>GCEDC BOARD ACCEPTS INITIAL RESOLUTION FOR $12 MILLION TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS IN BATAVIA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>8250 Park Road, LLC to re-develop hotel rooms, water park, restaurant, and hotel facilities<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BATAVIA, NY \u2013 The Genesee County Economic Development Center (GCEDC) board has accepted an initial resolution for a proposed $12 million investment by 8250 Park Road, LLC for extensive renovations to the Quality Inn &amp; Suites and Palm Island Indoor Water Park in the town of Batavia at its board meeting on Thursday, October 6, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">8250 Park Road, LLC will renovate the four-season tourism and hospitality facility\u2019s hotel rooms, lobby, event spaces, water park, and restaurant.&nbsp; The re-development proposes to create 38 new full-time jobs. The project is estimated to generate $32 of economic activity for every $1 of local public benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis investment will have a major impact on our tourism and hospitality sectors. These types of facilities will attract residents throughout the Western New York Region,\u201d said Steve Hyde, Genesee County Economic Development Center president and CEO. \u201cThe facility is in a premier location in Genesee County centrally located to attractions such as Darien Lake, and the facility\u2019s water park is a four-season attraction as well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">8250 Park Road, LLC is requesting sales tax exemptions estimated at $458,400, a property tax abatement of approximately $659,521, and a mortgage tax exemption estimated at $80,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A public hearing for the initial application will be scheduled in the town of Batavia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
