{"id":37209,"date":"2022-10-31T13:59:08","date_gmt":"2022-10-31T17:59:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/videonewsservice.net\/?p=37209"},"modified":"2022-10-31T13:59:08","modified_gmt":"2022-10-31T17:59:08","slug":"genesee-county-project-agreements-with-tourism-and-hospitality-facility-solar-projects-to-be-considered-at-gcedc-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/videonewsservice.net\/index.php\/2022\/10\/31\/genesee-county-project-agreements-with-tourism-and-hospitality-facility-solar-projects-to-be-considered-at-gcedc-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"GENESEE COUNTY\/Project Agreements with tourism and hospitality facility, solar projects to be considered at GCEDC meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Press release<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BATAVIA \u2013 The Genesee County Economic Development Center (GCEDC) board of directors will consider resolutions for projects proposing to invest $582.5 million in Genesee County at its board meeting on Tuesday, November 1, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Projects to be considered at the meeting include Hecate Energy Cider Solar LLC\u2019s proposed utility scale solar project, $20 million of community solar projects, and a $12 million hotel and water park renovation in Batavia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hecate Energy Cider Solar LLC is proposing to construct a 500-megawatt utility scale solar farm to be located on multiple agricultural properties in the towns of Elba and Oakfield. The $550 million project proposes to contribute over $73.5 million across PILOT and Host Community Agreements to Genesee County, the Town of Elba, the Town of Oakfield, the Elba Central School District, and the Oakfield-Alabama Central School District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7 $13.18 million to Genesee County<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7 $19.38 million to the Town of Elba<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7 $12.92 million to the Town of Oakfield<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7 $16.85 million to the Elba Central School District<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7 $11.24 million to the Oakfield-Alabama School District<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019re pleased to have worked with the towns of Elba and Oakfield, Genesee County, and our schools to enable Hecate Energy Cider Solar LLC\u2019s proposed project to provide a significant fiscal impact for our communities,\u201d GCEDC President and CEO Steve Hyde said. \u201cWith all sources of new revenue, this project would generate $23 of fiscal impacts over the life of the agreements for every $1 that would be generated by the properties in their current use.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Hecate Energy Cider Solar LLC project will be considered for an initial resolution at the November 1 meeting. If accepted, public hearings on the proposed payment-in-lieu-of-taxes (PILOT) agreement will be held in the town of Elba and the town of Oakfield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The GCEDC board will consider a final resolution for 8250 Park Road LLC. The project proposes to invest $12 million for extensive renovations to the Quality Inn &amp; Suites and Palm Island Indoor Water Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The four-season tourism and hospitality facility will become an 80-room Holiday Inn and 80-room Candlewood Suites with upgraded hotel rooms, lobby, event spaces, water park, and restaurant on site. 8250 Park Road LLC is proposing to create 38 new full-time jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">8250 Park Road LLC has requested $1,197,921 of property, sales, and mortgage tax assistance for the project, which is estimated to generate $32 of economic activity for every $1 of assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Initial resolutions will also be considered for 3 community solar projects totaling 10.5-megwatts of energy generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7 AES Rt 5 Storage, LLC is proposing to construct a 5-megawatt community solar project on West Main Road in Le Roy. The $11.01 million project would generate $597,180 in PILOT payments, host payments, and real property taxes to Genesee County, the town of Le Roy, and the Le Roy Central Schools. If accepted, a public hearing on the proposed project agreement will be held in the town of Le Roy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7 RPNY Solar 6, LLC is proposing to construct a 3-megawatt community solar project on Alexander Road in Batavia. The $5.97 million project would generate $447,748 in PILOT payments, host payments, and real property taxes to Genesee County, the town of Batavia, and the Alexander Central Schools. If accepted, a public hearing on the proposed project agreement will be held in the town of Batavia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7 RPNY Solar 7, LLC is proposing to construct a 2.5-megawatt community solar project on Alexander Road in Batavia. The $3.55 million project would generate $373,124 in PILOT payments, host payments, and real property taxes to Genesee County, the town of Batavia, and the Batavia City Schools. If accepted, a public hearing on the proposed project agreement will be held in the town of Batavia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The November 1, 2022, GCEDC board meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m. at the MedTech Center\u2019s Innovation Zone, 99 MedTech Drive, Batavia.
