{"id":3838,"date":"2018-03-10T16:33:25","date_gmt":"2018-03-10T21:33:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/videonewsservice.net\/?p=3838"},"modified":"2018-03-10T16:33:25","modified_gmt":"2018-03-10T21:33:25","slug":"batavia-a-rally-for-the-2nd-amendment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/videonewsservice.net\/index.php\/2018\/03\/10\/batavia-a-rally-for-the-2nd-amendment\/","title":{"rendered":"BATAVIA\/A rally for the 2nd Amendment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9HMgoUYNeGo\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Scope\/Genesee County Chapter held a rally in front of City Hall in Batavia on Saturday morning to make people aware of their 2nd Amendment rights under the Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>The group also held protest signs against the Safe Act and a proposed bill, H.R. 5087, which would ban the sale of semi-automatic firearms.<\/p>\n<p>According to Scope, the proposed legislation opts to prohibit the sale, transfer, production and importation of semi-automatic rifles and pistols that can hold a detachable magazine as well as semi-automatic rifles with a magazine that hold more than 10 rounds.<\/p>\n<p>Simeon Mokhiber, who lives in Niagara County, attended the rally this morning.<\/p>\n<p>Mokhiber was convicted under the safe act after he was charged during a traffic stop in North Tonawanda last year. Three high capacity magazines were located in his vehicle by law enforcement during the stop.<\/p>\n<p>Mokhiber explains his story in the video clip attached.<\/p>\n<p>The veteran says he is appealing his conviction and is in the process of appealing to the Supreme Court of NYS.<\/p>\n<p>Scope members are encouraging citizens to contact their NYS Representatives about their rights under the 2nd Amendment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Scope\/Genesee County Chapter held a rally in front of City Hall in Batavia on Saturday morning to make people aware of their 2nd Amendment rights under the Constitution.
