The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash which occurred on
March 22, 2023 at 8:19 PM on Route 63 in the Town of Alabama. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initial investigation has revealed that a vehicle operated by Vidal Chavez, 67,
of North Main Street, Elba, was traveling westbound on Route 63. At the same
time, a pedestrian, Richard Alan Jones Jr., 44, crossed Route 63 into
the path of Chavez’s vehicle. Jones was struck by the vehicle and was pronounced
deceased at the scene by the Genesee County Coroner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investigation into the collision is ongoing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
