A Lyndonville man has been arrested by the Orleans County Sheriff\u2019s Office following an investigation into a reported \u201cgun shots fired\u201d incident on North Lyndonville Road in the Town of Yates at 2:15AM on April 16th, 2023<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jeffrey L. Jary, age 46, of North Lyndonville Road, was charged with menacing in the 2nd degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree, and criminal use of a firearm in the 2nd degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jary allegedly fired rounds from a Zastava SKS rifle at an acquaintance as he was leaving the house following a disagreement. While Sheriff\u2019s Deputies and State Troopers were interviewing the alleged victim, four more shots rang out from the Jary residence. As Deputies and State Troopers approached the Jary residence, Mr. Jary jumped out a window. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Jary followed the commands of the Deputies and was taken into custody without incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Orleans County Sheriff\u2019s SWAT\/SRT (Special Response Team) responded to the scene to secure the residence and search for potential additional suspects. Mr. Jary was arraigned in Orleans County \u201cCAP\u201d Court and released with \u201cnon-monetary conditions\u201d and ordered to return to the Town of Yates Court on May 17th, 2023.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
