Two Rochester men are accused of stealing a vehicle in the Town of Alabama and then allegedly taking items from a building in the Town of Batavia. The pair then led police on a lengthy pursuit that ended in the City of Batavia in a field at the end of North Street, with both subjects being taken into custody. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Law enforcement units from the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department and the City of Batavia Police Department assisted in the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Devante M. Wells, 27, and Jalen I. Brown, both of Rochester, NY, are each charged with grand larceny 3rd degree, after allegedly taking items from a building in the Town of Batavia at 12:37p.m. on June 24, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wells is additionally charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, a class D felony. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brown is additionally charged with grand larceny 4th degree\/auto over $100, a class E felony, criminal possession of stolen property 4th degree\/vehicle, a class E felony and operating a vehicle impaired by drugs 1st degree, a misdemeanor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both subjects were initially held. Unknown status at this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
