On July 22, 2023, at 1:48pm, the Wyoming County Sheriff\u2019s Office responded to the scene of a
two car motor vehicle collision at the intersections of State Route 19A and Denton Corners Road
in the Town of Genesee Falls. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upon arrival, two involved vehicles were located at the scene with multiple serious physical injuries.
Following investigation at the scene, it was determined a 2019 Honda Odyssey, driven by Shilah
Muhit, age 43, of Queens, NY, was operating eastbound on Denton Corners Road. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to witnesses, Shilah Muhit failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with State Route 19A. Muhit proceeded into the intersection and into the path of an oncoming southbound 2011
Chevrolet Silverado. Both vehicles collided within the intersection.

Shilah Muhit was found to have nine [9] total occupants in her eight [8] occupant vehicle. A
child, age 10, was found to have been in the vehicle with no seatbelt, and two [2] other adults
were found to have been seated in the vehicle without seatbelts. A total of six [6] occupants
from this vehicle were transported to hospitals, two [2] of which were for critical serious injuries
and are currently admitted at Strong Memorial Hospital. The remaining four [4] occupants,
along with two [2] occupants from the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, were treated by Wyoming
County Community Health System for non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shilah Muhit was issued traffic citations for Failed to Yield Right-Of-Way at Stop Sign, and
Passenger Under Age 12 \u2013 Improper\/No Restraint. Two adult passengers were also issued
citations for No Seatbelt.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by Wyoming County Sheriff\u2019s Office Crash Management,
and New York State Park Police assisted with traffic control. Wyoming County Emergency
Management, Castile Ambulance, Gainesville Ambulance, Pike Ambulance, Pike Fire
Department, Silver Springs Ambulance, Perry Ambulance, Nunda Ambulance, Monroe
Ambulance, and Eddy\u2019s Collision also assisted at the scene.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
