Our officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but\u00a0it passed the red light and sped away. A short pursuit was initiated and\u00a0ended at approximately 12:27 AM in the area of 5 Summit St. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The black male suspect (about 30 years old and wearing a baseball hat with a red\/brown plaid flannel shirt) exited the vehicle and began running north through backyards. The suspect was observed crossing Washington Ave. near house number 221. A perimeter was set up on Washington Ave. \/ Summit Street \/ North St. \/ Bank St. and the K-9 unit was called in. The K-9 track ended at approximately 2:18 AM and was unsuccessful in locating the suspect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The vehicle is valid, and no one has reported it stolen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone with information or in the area of the perimeter is asked to check their cameras and call the Batavia Police Department at 585-345-6350 or the confidential tip line at 585-345-6370.
