{"id":4808,"date":"2018-06-01T13:45:27","date_gmt":"2018-06-01T17:45:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/videonewsservice.net\/?p=4808"},"modified":"2018-06-01T13:45:27","modified_gmt":"2018-06-01T17:45:27","slug":"genesee-county-darien-lake-offically-opens-newest-roller-coaster-tantrum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/videonewsservice.net\/index.php\/2018\/06\/01\/genesee-county-darien-lake-offically-opens-newest-roller-coaster-tantrum\/","title":{"rendered":"GENESEE COUNTY\/DARIEN LAKE OFFICALLY OPENS NEWEST ROLLER COASTER, TANTRUM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Zu2xIyvJ32Y\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Press release<\/p>\n<p>DARIEN CENTER, N.Y., June 1, 2018\u2013 Darien Lake officially opened its newest roller coaster today, Tantrum.<\/p>\n<p>The nearly $5 million addition will be Darien Lake\u2019s seventh coaster that will take riders on a signature beyond-vertical drop that hasn\u2019t previously been offered to park guests.<\/p>\n<p>At the ribbon cutting, staff and park guests were joined by Genesee County elected officials, development partners from the Genesee County Economic Development Center and Genesee Chamber of Commerce as well as sponsors including Perry\u2019s Ice Cream giving away samples of its newest ice cream flavor \u201cTantrum Twist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tantrum, the first coaster of its kind in New York State and Ontario, Canada, embarks riders on a 98-foot vertical lift at a 90-degree angle \u2013 straight up the coaster\u2019s first hill. In a matter of seconds, upon reaching its apex, the train plummets into a 97-degree drop and pretzel inversion.
