Three people were home at the time of the fire and were able to evacuate the residence. According to Tim Yaeger, Genesee County Fire Coordinator, the family dog was inside the garage at the time of the fire and did not make it out. A firefighter suffered a knee injury while on scene and was transported to the hospital by private vehicle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yeager says the fire was contained to the garage and did not spread to the house. The house suffered smoke damage. A preliminary investigation shows the fire started in the garage area.
