Update: According to Public Information Officer Trooper James O’Callaghan, the Trooper who was dragged had minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On March 19, 2024, Troopers out of SP Lockport arrested Antonio B. Tucker, 29, of Buffalo, NY, charging him with Reckless Endangerment 1st<\/sup>\u00a0degree (D Felony), Assault 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0degree-intent to injure Officer (D Felony)-2 counts, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd<\/sup>\u00a0degree and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Tickets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On March 19, 2024, at 3:07 P.M., Troopers out of SP Lockport observed a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox on South Transit Road in the city of Lockport in violation of the Vehicle and Traffic Law. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Troopers stopped the Chevrolet, and an alleged odor of marijuana was present and the operator, Tucker, allegedly showed signs of intoxication. Tucker refused commands to exit the vehicle and Troopers then attempted to open the driver door. Tucker then allegedly put the vehicle in drive and began to accelerate, dragging the Trooper approximately 15 feet before breaking free. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Troopers initiated a pursuit which went through multiple interstates, towns and counties before coming to rest on the I-90 near the Pembroke exit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tucker was taken into custody and processed at SP Lockport. Tucker was transported to Lockport Police Department for centralized arraignment scheduled for March 20, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
