On May 29th, 2024, at about 4:57 a.m. Albion Police Department officers responded to an address on East State Street in the Village of Albion for the report of a burglary in progress. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upon patrols\u2019 arrival, it was immediately determined that the victim\/homeowner was asleep in bed when she heard what sounded to be loud banging coming from outside her residence and possible glass breaking. The victim stated that a male subject then kicked in her locked bedroom door while she was still in bed and attacked her, striking her in her face and chest and choking her around her neck until she couldn\u2019t breathe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers safely secured the victim outside of the residence and immediately located a smashed-out basement window. A perimeter was established with the assistance of multiple Orleans County Sheriff\u2019s personnel and a New York State Trooper. Officers made entry to the residence and ultimately located a male hiding in an upstairs bedroom adjacent to the victim\u2019s bedroom and he was taken into custody without incident. The male subject was identified as Christopher R. Enedy (48) of Albion, the victim\u2019s ex-boyfriend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2023, Christopher Enedy was arrested by the Albion Police Department for a similar domestic related incident with the same victim and a full stay-away Order of Protection was issued in regards to that case by Town of Albion Court, Judge Moore ordering Enedy to stay away from the Victim and her home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Enedy is charged with the following New York State Penal Law charges:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Burglary 2nd Illegal Entry to a Dwelling – C Felony<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Criminal Contempt 1st Violate Order of Protection-Physical Contact \u2013 E Felony<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Criminal Contempt 1st Violate Order of Protection w\/ prior conviction \u2013 E Felony<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Criminal Contempt 1st \u2013 Violate Order of Protection-Damage property of another person >$250 \u2013 E felony<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Criminal Mischief 3rd \u2013 Damage another person\u2019s property >$250 – E Felony<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Criminal Obstruction of Breathing\/Blood Circulation \u2013 A Misdemeanor<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Harassment 2nd – Violation<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Enedy was transported to the Albion Police Department and will be subsequently placed in the Orleans County Jail to await CAP Court arraignment.
