Lifelong friends, Courtney Bauer(left) and Jessica Newland(right) opened their spray tan business GlowGetters at Silver Lake in June. The business is <\/em><\/strong>located just steps away from the lake at 6996 Standpipe Road in Perry, NY. The pair say they have always dreamed of operating a business in the area since they graduated from Perry High School in 2007\/2010 and giving back to their community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We have been working towards the dream of providing the community with a service that we both enjoy, says Newland. Spray tanning came to our mind, and we executed to make it happen in just a few short months after years of planning, and we created a space that was comfortable for all of our clients.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bauer and Newland completed training on June 9th and opened immediately afterwards on June 10th and started taking on clients. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are spray tan trained and ready to provide the community with a healthy alternative to tanning,” says Newland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The process takes about 15 minutes and the results last 7-10 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“A spray tan is a sunless tanning method where a fine mist is sprayed onto the body, says Bauer. We use a hand spray technique because this allows us to create a customized tan for each client and provide a more thorough application.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

GlowGetters at Silver Lake is by appointment only, but also offers very flexible times including evenings and weekends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our space is cozy and cute, and we strive to make our clients feel as comfortable as possible from start to finish. We have a wide variety of clients coming for all different reasons including just because, special occasions like class reunions, weddings, vacation, and we’ve had a few brides and bridal parties. Men are also encouraged to come and get a spray tan. We’ve had a few men so far.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
