{"id":65998,"date":"2025-07-13T10:01:23","date_gmt":"2025-07-13T14:01:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/videonewsservice.net\/?p=65998"},"modified":"2025-07-13T10:01:23","modified_gmt":"2025-07-13T14:01:23","slug":"batavia-glow-community-alliance-collects-for-kids","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/videonewsservice.net\/index.php\/2025\/07\/13\/batavia-glow-community-alliance-collects-for-kids\/","title":{"rendered":"BATAVIA\/GLOW Community Alliance Collects for Kids"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Batavia Good Trouble Lives On Protest and School Supply Drive<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Press release<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">[BATAVIA, NY, July 17, 2025] &#8212; GLOW Community Alliance is hosting a Good Trouble Lives On protest and school supply drive in front of Batavia City Hall on Thursday, July 17th from 6 &#8211; 8 pm, to mobilize the community against harmful federal policies while encouraging direct support of community members in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Community members are encouraged to bring signs for the protest and school supplies for a collection that will be donated directly to a local area school to benefit students. This event follows a successful \u201cFight for Women and the Marginalized\u201d locally donated food drive and protest on May 17th, conducted by the GLOW Community Alliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All school supplies are welcome, but the most needed are: 1\u201d and 2\u201d binders, spiral notebooks, folders, pens, pencils, highlighters, and pencil cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The protest follows the tradition of peaceful civic engagement, in spite of opposing aggressive rhetoric and legislation seeking to divide and damage vulnerable communities across GLOW and the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">July 17th marks the anniversary of Congressman John Lewis\u2019s passing, who was a civil rights leader that coined the phrase \u201cGood Trouble\u201d to inspire communities to peacefully come together and challenge injustice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GLOW Community Alliance is a new organization formed to directly support, inspire, and educate people spanning the entire GLOW region.
