On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at approximately 10:30 a.m., the Albion Police Department was advised that a stolen vehicle was potentially in the parking lot of the Hoag Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The vehicle, a Ford F-150 Lightning, had been reported stolen from the City of Canandaigua Department of Public Works. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle at a charging station. Officers observed a 17-year-old juvenile female, lying in the back seat and a 16-year-old juvenile male in the driver\u2019s seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers safely detained both individuals. A Glock-style BB gun was recovered from the driver\u2019s side area and secured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both juveniles had previously been reported missing by the Town of Greece Police Department. Investigators from the Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force and deputies from the Orleans County Sheriff\u2019s Office responded to assist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The juveniles were transported to the Albion Police Department for processing. They were charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the third degree (E Felony) and given appearance tickets for the Orleans County Youth Court. Additionally, the male juvenile was issued a traffic citation for operating the vehicle with a DJ permit and without a licensed passenger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ontario County Sheriff\u2019s Office was notified that the vehicle was located, and the two suspects were in custody. Albion Police coordinated the safe transfer of the juveniles to Ontario County deputies for additional charges.
