Hawley, 41, of Coward Rd., Byron, left the roadway striking a tree stump. Hawley was transported to Strong Hospital via Mercy Flight for her injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Hawley was allegedly impaired by drugs at the time of the accident and was place under arrest.<\/p>\n<p>She is charged with operating a vehicle while impaired by drugs, failure to keep right, and moving from a lane unsafely.<\/p>\n<p>The accident was investigated by Deputy Andrew Mullen and Deputy Jenna Ferrando.<\/p>\n<p>Also assisting at the scene were the Elba Fire Department, Mercy EMS and Mercy Flight.<\/p>\n<p>________________________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p>Fire crews from Elba were called to a motor vehicle accident on Batavia Elba Townline road about 12:20 Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p>A pick up truck heading east on Townline road left the roadway and struck a mailbox and a tree, trapping the female driver.<\/p>\n<p>Fire crews worked on extricating the female driver in her 30&#8217;s for almost an hour. She was reportedly semi conscious when she was found by a passerby who discovered the accident.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Sheriff&#8217;s Office, it is unknown what time the accident occurred or how long the pick up was off the road before the passerby discovered it.<\/p>\n<p>Mercy Flight transported the female driver and sole occupant of the pick up to Strong Hospital in Rochester.<\/p>\n<p>The Genesee County Sheriff&#8217;s Office is investigating the cause of the accident.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UPDATE: After an investigation, the Genesee County Sheriff&#8217;s Office has determined that the driver and sole occupant of the pick up truck, Julia A.
