The Genesee County Health Department is seeking information regarding a dog and its owner following a biting incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A teenager was bitten by a dog on Wednesday, September 17th, at approximately 1:00 p.m. at Austin Park, Jefferson Avenue, Batavia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b7 The dog is described as a dark-colored, short-haired breed, potentially a pit bull mix, wearing a thick dark collar with tags, and was on a leash at the time of the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b7 The person handling the dog was described as an adult male of short stature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The health department is seeking the dog to ensure it is healthy. If the dog is confirmed healthy, it helps confirm that rabies was not transmitted during the bite, and the person may not need treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
