Speakers celebrated the group&#8217;s collective efforts and hard work over the past few years in fighting proposed data centers looking to take up residence in Alabama, NY, near the Tonawanda Seneca Reservation and the Iroquois Wildlife Refuge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In October, the group put out a press release declaring victory, after GCEDC retracted their data center approvals that were challenged in litigation. The\u00a0nearly 1 million square foot planned data center complex was proposed for the Western New York Science and Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park (STAMP) mega-industrial site in Alabama, NY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Allies of the Tonawanda Seneca Nation also announced that 600 signatures have been collected, opposing a potential plan for an even larger data center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"1080\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1920 \/ 1080;\" width=\"1920\" controls Center<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Environmental Review Process Continues STAMP\u2019s Public Participation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">STREAM U.S. Data Centers previously announced it will submit a new application for a larger project at STAMP to increase their proposed investment and bring additional jobs and economic benefits to our community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Should STREAM\u2019s project go forward, it will represent a multi-billion dollar investment in Genesee County that will complement the hundreds of millions of private sector dollars and hundreds of quality jobs already underway at STAMP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To date, the development of STAMP has yielded substantial and concrete benefits for Genesee County that include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7 Installation of public water service for the majority of the Town of Alabama, funded by STAMP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7 Nearly $1.9 million dollars in total annual direct payments to the Town of Alabama, County of Genesee, and Oakfield-Alabama School District resulting from PILOT\/Host agreements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7 Additional payments to Town of Alabama totaling $292,000 resulting from the sale of land at STAMP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7 In September of 2025, 915 construction jobs on-site, with on-site construction jobs ranging between 300 to 1,000 over the past two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7 Hundreds of quality, permanent jobs that will support local families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7 Significant investment in local infrastructure including upgrades to the Village of Oakfield wastewater treatment facility that will improve water quality in Oak Orchard Creek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The process for evaluating an updated proposal to build a data center at STAMP continues over 15 years of public participation in STAMP\u2019s development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2025 marks the fifteen-year anniversary of GCEDC starting the ongoing environmental review process for the development of the Western New York Science &amp; Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park (STAMP) and thirteen years since the Town of Alabama\u2019s rezoning of the site made STAMP a reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since the initiation of the environmental review process, GCEDC has undertaken numerous, almost annual, supplemental reviews to ensure that development at STAMP is consistent with thresholds and limitations that have been established for the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These reviews have always been done with the goal of ensuring that any project at STAMP, as well as the cumulative development of STAMP, meet the environmental review thresholds and mitigation requirements collaboratively developed with our neighbors and the dozens of local, regional, and state agencies who play a role in any development at STAMP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All application materials, studies, and documentation for STREAM will be posted to <a href=\"http:\/\/gcedc.com\/projects\">gcedc.com\/projects <\/a>and we appreciate that additional comments, questions, and requests will be provided during both the environmental review process and the consideration of financial incentives related to the STREAM US Data Centers proposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We welcome public participation in the review process &#8211; every project seeking to locate at STAMP is required to have a public hearing, where such input is gathered and incorporated into GCEDC\u2019s decision-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As future projects seek to join our community, GCEDC will continue to facilitate local economic growth and development which fosters investment and job creation for the benefit of our residents and
