Upon arriving in New York, everyone kept recommending one place where he should apply; The Arc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFamily has been central to the identity of Arc GLOW \u2026 and immediately that\u2019s what I felt, and have felt, with the agency for a long time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moore started his career as an overnight direct support professional (DSP) at one of the individualized residential alternatives (IRAs) in Warsaw before being promoted to assistant residential manager then residential manager \u2014 all within the same home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He later was promoted to the position of residential services manager and again to director of residential services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the senior director of clinical services, Moore has oversight over Arc GLOW\u2019s clinical team and implementation of clinical supports for the people Arc GLOW supports. He said while he has always loved the residential services Arc GLOW provides, having the right clinical supports impacts every aspect of a person\u2019s life, no matter what program they are in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDuring the course of his tenure here with Arc, Adam achieved a master\u2019s degree in Psychology, and he is currently the vice chairperson of the Wyoming County Community Services Board, and a member of the Wyoming County Community Services Developmental Disabilities Sub-Committee. Additionally, he is an active member of our Human Rights Committee and Incident Review Committee, and a regular participant in the New York State Trauma Informed Care Network and Arc New York sponsored Residential Collaboratives,\u201d said Deb Tuckerman, Arc GLOW vice president of Residential Services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAdam has developed a reputation for being a strong advocate for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, both within our agency and throughout countless community organizations and hospitals, and I have every bit of confidence that he will be a tremendous leader for our clinical team,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moore attended Southern New Hampshire University for both his bachelor of science in human services and masters in psychology. He completed the bachelor\u2019s program Summa Cum Laude while working as a residential manager, and with a newborn. Moore earned his masters while working as coordinator of Residential Services and becoming director of Residential Services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI also had the great benefit of receiving the Jonathan Weingold scholarship through The Arc New York,\u201d Moore said. \u201cArc GLOW was also helpful with our tuition reimbursement program.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moore lives outside of Silver Springs on a hobby farm with a wife and two young children; a daughter who is in first grade and a son who is just about to celebrate his first birthday. Moore\u2019s nephew, who will be a senior this year, also lives with the family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe people that I have a great pleasure to work with both as people receiving services and coworkers have left lifelong impacts,\u201d he said. \u201cI don\u2019t think that\u2019s something that is easy to find other places.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Arc GLOW is a public non-profit supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Genesee, Livingston, Orleans and Wyoming counties.
