Chief Michael J. Grover reports the arrest of a Mount Morris man following a DWI investigation by the Perry Police Department, all stemming from a motor vehicle accident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On May 16, 2026, at approximately 11:23 p.m., the Perry Police Department responded to a motor vehicle accident on Rt. 20A at Silver Lake Road. Following an investigation, 47-year-old Clinton D. Taft was charged with DWI-Common law, Refusal to take breath test, Consumption or possession of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle and Failure to stop at a stop sign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taft refused to perform standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taft was transported to the Perry Police Department where he then refused to provide a chemical breath test. Taft was processed on the above charges and was then arraigned in the Perry Village Court by Judge Wolcott, where Taft\u2019s driver\u2019s license was suspended. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taft was released to a sober 3rd party and is to appear in the Perry Town Court on 06\/03\/2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
