The William F. Brown, Jr. scholarship is given annually by The Jerome Foundation in memory of Mr. Brown, who was a local journalist, author, business owner of WBTA, community leader, and volunteer. Mr. Brown was also a Charter member of The Jerome Foundation Board of Trustees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The award is for $1000 a year for four years given to a graduating Senior from a Genesee County School who will be majoring in the fields of journalism, marketing, communications or public relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s recipient is Katherine Rogoyski, a graduating Senior at Byron-Bergen Central School, who will be attending Ithaca College majoring in Marketing and Public Relations. Kat states; “Much like the late William F. Brown used his \u201cinsights\u201d column and radio broadcasts to enrich the lives of Genesee County residents, I want to shift the world of advertising toward a focus on human connection and self-improvement.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
