PRESS RELEASE

The New York State Police have completed their investigation of a multiple vehicle crash that occurred on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 eastbound on I-90 near Batavia.

The crash occurred around 2:00 p.m. at mile marker 382 eastbound on the Thruway.

The investigation revealed that 19 vehicles, including 16 passenger cars, one box truck and two tractor trailers, were involved in the crash.

Trooper Dominique Wilson<\/strong> was injured in the crash.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a tractor trailer traveling eastbound lost control, jack knifed, and struck the rear of a Trooper Wilson\u2019s troop car pushing it out into the roadway where she was then sideswiped by a second tractor trailer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trooper Wilson<\/strong> sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Two other individuals also sustained non-life threatening injuries. Michael L. Bushek<\/strong>, age 60 of Palmyra, NY and Edward F. Dejoy<\/strong>, age 55 of Hamburg NY.

All were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by Ambulance. Trooper Wilson <\/strong>remains hospitalized and in stable condition.  The other two were treated and released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both of the tractor trailer drivers, Richard Magezi<\/strong>, 41 years old, of \u00a0Fort Worth, TX and Michael L. Lambert<\/strong>, 54 years old of Hartford, CT were ticketed for Disobeying a Traffic Control Device, Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent, Following Too Closely , and Driving Across Hazard Markings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
