The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in investigating an attempted robbery\/purse
snatching that occurred during the early morning hours of August 2, 2026, in the Village of Oakfield.

Deputies report that a disabled individual was walking near 15 South Main Street when she was approached by an unknown white male believed to be in his early 20s. The suspect is described as approximately 6 feet tall, with a slender build, brown hair and wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt.

The investigation remains active.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area or who may have surveillance or camera footage from the early morning hours of August 2 is encouraged to contact the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
