On October 22, at 8:28 pm, The Orleans County Sherriff\u2019s 911 Center received multiple reports of a working house fire with 2 people trapped at 12625 Presbyterian Street, Town of Ridgeway. Public Safety Dispatchers sent Ridgeway F.D, with automatic Mutual Aid from the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Medina Fire and Ambulance<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Albion FD<\/p>\n\n\n\n

East Shelby FC<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shelby FC<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Orleans County Emergency Management<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Orleans County Sheriff\u2019s Deputies<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional Mutual aide was called in to the scene or to fill in from the following;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lyndonville FD<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mercy Ambulance<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tri-Town Ambulance Filling in at Medina<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mercy Flight to the O.C. Fairgrounds<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barre FC<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carlton FC<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Orleans County Sheriff\u2019s Animal Control<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Murray Fire Dist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Batavia To Fill in at Albion<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Middleport Fill in Medina<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon arrival, Ridgeway Fire found a working house fire, and two victims. One victim, a resident of the house, was transported to Strong Hospital in Rochester with injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A second victim, a neighbor from across the street, had become aware of the fire, ran over and entered the burning house in an attempt to rescue the remaining person in the house. Conditions forced the neighbor out of the house due to the heavy fire and smoke and was in fact on fire himself as he exited the house. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victim had to roll and receive assistance from others in the front yard to be extinguished. The second victim was transported by Mercy Flight to Strong Hospital as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The third victim was located on the first floor of the residence deceased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Orleans County Coroners Office responded to the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Orleans County Emergency Management Fire Coordinators and Fire Investigators were on scene with EMO Director Justine Niederhofer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NYS Fire was on scene with Fire Investigators.Orleans County Sheriff Investigators and Sheriff Fire Investigators were on scene as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, the cause and origin of the fire is under investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
