An East Bethany man is in custody after an altercation in the Town of Clarendon on April 21, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kevin J. Compton, 57, is charged with 2 counts of assault 2nd after allegedly stabbing a father and son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence on Mansfield road about 8:00p.m. after dispatchers received a call for a stabbing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Compton was at a residence working on the interior of the home when a verbal altercation occurred. The father, the son and Compton then exited the house, going across the street into a cornfield where the argument continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At some point, the verbal argument turned physical and the father and son were stabbed in the chest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both father and son were transported to Strong Hospital by COVA and Monroe Ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Compton was arraigned in the Town of Clarendon Court and jailed on $20,000 bail. He will return to court on May 13, 2019 at 6:00p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident is being investigated by the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the NYS Police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
