Warriner<em> III, M.D., Center of Excellence <\/em> award for clinical excellence achieving patient satisfaction rates of at least 92 percent and a healing rate of at least 91 percent in less than 30 median days to heal. says Melvin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;For him to stand here right now is pretty much a miracle,&#8221; says Leigh Squiers, Melvin&#8217;s girlfriend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Back in October of 2016 we were pessimistic and combative, it is the way Dr. Joe took care of things along with the nurses that made this an invaluable experience for all of us.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ronald Drock is also a patient at the Wound Care Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;It was pretty scary when I first came in here,&#8221; says Drock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I had gangrene poisoning in my toe and I thought they were going to have to take my toe off. All I can do is say thank you very much for the job you done on me&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UMMC President Dan Ireland says the values that are followed at UMMC are care, quality, collaboration, compassion, foresight and respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;These values, I see all of them alive an well here.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;It speaks so loud that is a team effort to help people heal from what are devastating wounds. You all truly touch our community in a very special way&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center at UMMC is the only wound care center this side of WNY.
