ORLEANS COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Inmate charged after “shake down search” at jail

The Orleans County Sheriff’s Office charged an Orleans County Jail inmate following a “shake down search” and investigation at the Jail on December 20, 2016.

William J. Tuttle Jr., 36, of Holley N.Y., is charged with promoting prison contraband 2nd after officers allegedly found contraband in his possession.

Orleans County Undersheriff Christopher M. Bourke reports that Sheriff’s Correction Officers conducted this operation within the jail as part of a continuing effort to maintain a safe and secure facility for both staff members and inmates.

Along with the excellent work of the Correction Officers, we will continue to use all tools available to us to keep contraband out of our facility.

Further charges may be filed pending laboratory results of the substances found.

Tuttle is scheduled to appear in the Town of Albion Court on Jan 18, 2016 at 9:00am.

On December 15, 2016, the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office charged a woman following an alleged shoplifting incident at the Albion Wal-Mart Super Center.

Dawn M. Knapp, 52, of Waterport, N.Y., is charged with petit larceny after she allegedly concealed several items in her purse.

Knapp was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Albion Court on January 18, 2017 at 9:00am
