Craig Johnson was named Firefighter of the Year at the LeRoy Fire Department’s Awards and installation banquet Saturday evening at the Jones Hall in Caledonia.
Johnson was also pinned as 2nd Assistant Chief.
Gerry Diskin, Ken Davis and Jim Spear were also recognized for 50 years of service to the department.
The LeRoy Fire Department responded to 310 calls for service, spending 220 hours on those calls. The busiest time of the day was at noon and 4p.m. for the volunteer department.
