BATAVIA/Suspect in Jackson street shooting indicted

A Genesee County Grand Jury has indicted Jeremy R. Armstrong, 26, of Batavia, in the December 2, 2016 shooting on Jackson street that injured a person.

The victim was shot by Armstrong several times at a close distance. The victim, who was familiar with Armstrong, was treated at a local hospital.

Armstrong is accused of attempted murder 2nd, assault 1st, criminal use of a firearm 1st(2 counts), all class B felonies, and criminal possession of a weapon 2nd(two counts), a class C felony.

Armstrong was picked up on a warrant outside of a family member’s residence in East Hartford, Connecticut on February 28, 2017 and taken into custody without incident.
