HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL/ Holley gets first win of the season

The Holley Hawks turned on the scoring machine and came away with a 47-21 win over visiting Notre Dame on Saturday afternoon.

The Hawks scored first on a quarterback push up the middle, Jeremy Mallett came away with six after walking away from the pile of players.

On Notre Dame’s first possession, quarterback Tim Klotzbach tossed a long pass that was picked off by Jamel Hildreth who ran it down to Irish territory.

With 34 seconds remaining in the 1st quarter, Jacob Affronti ran the ball into the end zone almost untouched to up the score to 12-0. Affronti then added on two more in the two point conversion to make it 14-0.

In the 2nd quarter, Nico Zambito intercepted a pass and ran the ball down to the red zone. Quarterback Tim Klotzbach then found Gran Hens in the end zone with a pass to make it a game at 14-6.

But with 1:31 left in the half, Holley quarterback Jeremy Mallett found his way in for another score to make it 20-7 at the half.

In the 3rd quarter, Mallett continued his assault on the Irish defense running the ball down to the 5 yard line, tossing it off to Camron Labarge to finish the run with 6 more points to make it 27-7 and putting the game out of reach for the Irish(1-4).

Holley(1-4) will travel to York/ Pavilion next Friday while the Irish will face LeRoy at home on Saturday.
