ORLEANS COUNTY/Corfu man accused of possessing and selling cocaine in Albion

ON DECEMBER 27, 2017, AFTER AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE SALE AND DISTRIBUTION OF COCAINE IN THE VILLAGE OF ALBION, THE ORLEANS COUNTY MAJOR FELONY CRIME TASK FORCE, ALONG WITH THE ALBION POLICE DEPT., STOPPED A VEHICLE ON SOUTH MAIN STREET IN THE VILLAGE OF ALBION, N.Y. AND TASK FORCE MEMBERS SEIZED A QUANTITY OF COCAINE PACKAGED FOR SALE. AS A RESULT THE DRIVER WAS ARRESTED ON SALE AND POSSESSION CHARGES.

POLICE ARRESTED:

· STEVEN R. KIMMEL, 47, OF ALLEGHANY RD., CORFU, N.Y., HE IS CHARGED WITH:

2 COUNTS OF CRIMINAL SALE OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE IN THE THIRD DEGREE.(CLASS B FELONIES).

2 COUNTS OF CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE IN THE THIRD DEGREE.(CLASS B FELONIES).

KIMMEL WAS ARRAIGNED IN TOWN OF ALBION JUSTICE COURT, BY THE HON. JOSEPH FULLER  AND WAS COMMITTED TO THE ORLEANS COUNTY JAIL ON $25,000.00 CASH OR $50,000.00 BOND. KIMMEL IS TO RETURN TO THE TOWN OF ALBION JUSTICE COURT ON JANUARY 3, 2017 AT 9:00 P.M.

FURTHER ARRESTS AND CHARGES ARE PENDING IN THIS INVESTIGATION.
