On November 3, 2019, at about 1:24p.m., the Village of Perry Police Department responded to an address on Lake Street in the Village of Perry for the report of a suicidal female with a knife.
Upon the officer’s arrival, it was discovered that Tammy Stewart, 46, of Perry, body slammed the front door to an apartment causing it to break. Stewart then entered the apartment and remained inside without the owner’s permission. Inside the apartment, in the main living area, there were five children all under the age of 14.
Stewart was arrested for burglary 2nd, a class C felony, five counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor, criminal mischief 4th, a class A misdemeanor and obstruction of governmental administration, a class A misdemeanor.
Stewart was arraigned in the Village of Perry Court in front of Judge Miller. The Wyoming County District Attorney provided a bail recommendation of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond. Judge Miller released Stewart on her own recognizance. Stewart is to appear in the Village of Perry Court at a later date.
