BATAVIA POLICE REPORT/Ellicott street man punched and choked woman

Steven R. Columbo, 30, of Ellicott St., Batavia, is charged with criminal contempt 1st(prior conviction), strangulation 2nd and criminal contempt 1st/physical contact following a domestic incident where Columbo is accused of punching a female victim in the mouth and choking her to a point where she nearly lost consciousness at a location on East Main street on January 25, 2017.

There is an order of protection ordering Columbo to stay away from the victim and Columbo has been previously convicted within the past 5 years of violating the order of protection.

He was arraigned in City Court.

 

Ryan R. Hernandez, 20, of Albion Rd., Oakfield, is charged with coercion 1st and aggravated harassment 2nd and criminal possession of a weapon after a domestic incident on Walnut street on January 24, 2017.

Hernandez allegedly threatened a former significant other via text message.

At the time of his arrest, metal knuckles were located inside his vehicle.

Hernandez was arraigned in City Court and jailed in lieu of $10,000 cash or bond bail.

He will appear in City Court later this morning.

 

 

Carlton L. Beardsley, 22, of Walnut St., Batavia, is charged with petit larceny and attempted petit larceny after he allegedly stole property from a local business at 300 Ellicott street on January 24, 2017.

Police responded looking to locate Beardsley, as it was reported he was attempting to steal property from another business.

Beardsley was arraigned and jailed in lieu of $5,000 cash bail and $10,000 bond bail.

He will re-appear in City Court later today.
