Todd Crossett as been promoted to Assistant Police Chief with the City of Batavia Police Department as of this past Sunday.

Crossett started going through the process of applying for the position when Assistant Chief Rob Yeager retired at the end of January 2017.

Several others also applied for the position and Crossett was chosen.

Crossett has been with the City of Batavia Police Department for almost 19 years.

“I grew up in the City on Prospect avenue, I know Batavia pretty well and have good ties to the City,” says Crossett.

When asked what he can offer to the position of Assistant Police Chief?

“The knowledge I have for police work and the contacts I have within the community and the great group of people we have, the officers and sergeants are great and everyone is hardworking.”

“It will be a fun challenge, it will be different than being in charge of the Detectives Unit. I will now be responsible for 20 people instead of 5.”

As Assistant Chief, Crossett will now be in charge of road patrol.

Kevin Czora will now take over the Detective Bureau as the Officer in Charge until interviews are completed to fill Crossett’s former position as Detective Sergeant.

“It’s a big deal, I’m excited I was selected.  I am going to enjoy the challenge and do the best I can.
